This article explains what a configurator integration is and gives an overview of the available integration types and their application areas. It furthermore tells you where to find the different integration tools in your configurator interface.

What is integration?

Integration is the process of seamlessly connecting our product configurator with your web shop system, website or product presentation tool and linking your product data with the configuration template.

The Product Configurator Cloud isn't just only available for a dedicated webshop-system, but for almost every webshop-system you can think of!

The Configurator is independent, you can even use it without any eCommerce platform in the background, solely as an HTML5 snippet!

  • Webshop integration: integration of the product configurator in your web shop

The product configurator is installed as a plugin in your web shop backend (where you manage your web shop). You can find the respective plugins in the the product configurator => settings => integrations

By integrating the product configurator in your web shop system, the configurator can be used as a direct sales tool in the frontend (website that is visible for the customer). There is a direkt link to the shopping cart; price calculation and direct orders based on the configured product are possible. The configurator extracts the relevant product information like base price or respective attributes out of the web shop system.

Supported Webshops:

  • Magento 1
  • Magento 2
  • Shopware 5
  • WooCommerce
  • Oro Commerce (in planning)

  • Website integration: integration of the product configurator in your website

If you want to use the configurator only as a presentation tool for product variations on your website, a website integration might be an appropriate solution. In this case the configurator is not interlinked with a web shop system. Thus, the configured product cannot be added to a shopping card. Nevertheless a configured product can be saved and stored within the product configurator interface. Based on that configuration the buyer can be contacted personally for further consultation.
For using website integration you simply copy and paste a HTML-snippet into your website script.

Finally, the product configurator is shown on your website frontend.
